Catholic Charities respects the privacy of our donors and prospective donors and is committed to protecting personal information entrusted to us. Personal information, including names, addresses, contact information, and other details provided by donors, is used solely by Catholic Charities to communicate about our mission and activities, including program updates, community impact, special events, and opportunities to support our work. Donors may choose to stop receiving communications from Catholic Charities at any time by contacting our Organizational Office. Catholic Charities may publish a list of donor names in an annual report available on our website. Donors who wish to remain anonymous may request that their names not be included.

Philanthropy is built on voluntary action for the common good. It reflects a tradition of generosity and shared responsibility that strengthens our communities. To ensure that donors and prospective donors can have confidence in the organizations they support, Catholic Charities recognizes the following rights:
I. To be informed of the organization’s mission, how donated resources will be used, and the organization’s ability to use gifts effectively for their intended purposes.
II. To be informed of the identity of individuals serving on the organization’s governing board and to expect responsible stewardship of donated resources.
III. To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.
IV. To be assured that gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
V. To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition for contributions.
VI. To be assured that donation information is handled respectfully and confidentially, to the extent provided by law.
VII. To expect professional interactions with individuals representing organizations seeking support.
VIII. To be informed whether individuals requesting donations are volunteers, employees, or hired representatives of the organization.
IX. To have the opportunity to request removal of their names from mailing lists that an organization may share.
X. To ask questions when making a donation and receive prompt, truthful, and transparent answers.
